Legal
Acceptable use policy
How our phone, IT and software services can and can’t be used.
01About this policy
This policy is part of our Terms. It applies to you and to anyone who uses the services we provide you, such as your staff. You’re responsible for them keeping to it.
Report misuse of our services through our contact page.
02Use within the law
Don’t use our services for anything unlawful, fraudulent or harmful, or anything that harms children.
03Calls and texts
- don’t make nuisance or silent calls, or marketing calls to people registered with the Telephone Preference Service unless they’ve agreed to hear from you;
- only send marketing texts to people who’ve agreed to receive them, and include a way to opt out;
- don’t use caller ID to pretend to be someone else, or hide who you are;
- if you record calls, tell callers, and keep recordings only as long as you need them;
- don’t resell our phone services, or use them for automated dialling or to carry other providers’ traffic.
Inclusive minutes are for normal business calls between people, not for automated or bulk calling.
04Systems and accounts
Don’t use systems we look after to attack, scan or break into other systems, or to spread malware.
Keep your passwords to yourself, use two-step sign-in where we’ve set it up, and tell us straight away if you think an account has been misused.
05Software licences
Use software within its licence: the number of people or devices it covers, and its maker’s rules. Don’t share or copy licences.
06If this policy is broken
Depending on how serious it is, we may warn you, limit or pause the service, or end it. We may also report illegal activity to the police or other authorities, and recover our reasonable costs.
Where we can, we tell you first and give you time to put things right. For serious harm, we act straight away and then tell you.
