People and compliance

Assistive software and training

Software that makes reading, writing and organising easier, supplied, set up and taught so it gets used. For individuals, employers through Access to Work, schools and local authorities.

Who we supply

For people, employers and schools

Whoever is paying, the software is set up around the person who’ll use it.

Individuals

Buy for yourself or someone you care for, with help choosing what suits you.

Employers, through Access to Work

When an Access to Work grant includes software, we supply it for your employee and set it up.

Schools and local authorities

For pupils and students, including as part of an EHCP or EOTAS package. One licence or a whole school.

What we supply

Tools for how people work and learn

Tell us the product named in a report, or what the person finds hard, and we’ll help you choose.

Reading

Text-to-speech, reading rulers and screen tints, so text is easier to take in.

Writing

Speech-to-text, word prediction and spelling support.

Organising

Mind mapping, planning and note-taking tools for getting thoughts in order.

Seeing and hearing

Screen magnification, screen reading and captions.

Training

Training that sticks

Assistive technology only helps if it gets used. We train people to use it in their own work or study, and the staff and teams around them, so it becomes part of how they do things.

Our team is DBS checked. We work with young people under our own safeguarding policy.

  • One-to-one, at the person’s pace, in short sessions
  • Group sessions for teams, and staff training for schools and employers supporting someone
  • On software and devices from us or any other supplier
  • Built around how they work or learn, not a standard course
  • Written guides to keep, in plain English
  • Part of an Access to Work, EHCP or EOTAS package, or paid for yourself

How buying works

  1. 1

    Tell us what you need

The software named in a report, or what the person finds hard if you’re not sure yet.

  2. 2

    Get a written quote

Licences, set-up and training, addressed to whoever is paying.

  3. 3

We install and set it up

On the person’s own computer or across a school, with their settings ready.

  4. 4

    Training and help

One-to-one training, plain-English guides, and the same team to ask afterwards.

Not sure what would help?

A technology needs assessment looks at how someone works or learns and recommends what would help. Our recommendations are independent, so you can buy from us or anyone else.
